Deputy Manager

You will be working on a rota basis:

  • 9am – 5pm

  • 10am – 6pm

  • 1pm – 9pm

  • With additional support for sleep-ins where required

We are looking for someone who will work closely and supportively with the Registered Manager to ensure high standards of care are consistently maintained. You will play a key role in ensuring the home operates in accordance with all relevant regulatory frameworks and will deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.


Pay

  • £32,000-£35,000 (based on 40 hrs per week)

  • + £65 per sleep-in

  • Pay dependent on qualifications and experience


Essential

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Able to work on a rota basis (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)

  • Able to work 24hr shifts inclusive of a sleep-in

  • Good understanding of safeguarding children and young people

  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting

  • Completed or enrolled on Diploma Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce (or NVQ equivalent)


Preferable

  • Hold a Level 3 in Residential Care (or equivalent)

  • 1 year’s experience working in residential care

  • Experience supporting children with EBD/LD


Skills

  • Strong communication (verbal and written)

  • Knowledge of safeguarding children and young people

  • Accurate reporting and recording

  • Team building and leadership skills

  • Supervision and staff management

  • Ability to motivate and enthuse staff

  • Coaching and training skills

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Understanding of the needs of SEMH children, including managing challenging behaviour

  • Experience with restorative practice
